Phoebe in Wonderland

Another movie today is Phoebe in Wonderland. This movie depicts about Phoebe, a girl suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) of whom she started to hallucinate characters from Alice in Wonderland. She was really immersed in her own wonderland that her society hated her and started ridiculing her up till when she met with the new theatrical teacher at her school. Phoebe's mother was full of denial acknowledging that her daughter was different from any normal child.

I was watching this movie on Vidics right, but unfortunately I did not watch the complete movie. This is because that the link provided from Vidics itself was incomplete and stopped right at the most interesting part of the movie which was the end. So I did not know what the ending was like, what Phoebe was going to be like, whether she was sent to a healing community, I don't know. But overall, I am in awe seeing Elle Fanning (playing as Phoebe) acting such a complicated character in this movie. Have I mentioned that she was 9 years old back then. She is following her older sister's footsteps, Dakota Fanning!

Watch the Trailer!

Happy Watching :D

FairyTale- A True Story

I've just finished watching FairyTale and I should say that this is a beautiful film. It is based on a story of 2 young girls discovering fairies living at the bottom of their garden. This changed the world's perspective on the belief whether fairies exist.

There were some tear-jerking moments in which I shed tears. I have grown soft over the years. You can watch the whole film at the clip below.

Spring Cleaning

These past few days I kept on cleaning the rooms at my house due to the absence of maids and also I was unemployed (meaning, nothing to do and I got bored). So it has been 4 days.  I started on Monday and ended on Thursday (which was yesterday).

Monday- My bedroom
Tuesday- Master bedroom
Wednesday- The room in front of my bedroom which was used for ironing clothes and where my dad exercises.
Thursday- The Dining Room

Felt really tired. My arms were about to fall any second. My thighs are accumulated with lactic acid. The cramps unbearable. Especially when you keep doing these kinds of chores everyday. I'm not saying the usual chores like moping, sweeping and dusting. What I did during these past few days were organizing stuffs. Unwanted things were disposed. There were a lot of my dad's unused things that he still keeps. These things weren't even useful anymore. Don't bother finding them still work. They are BROKEN. I'm confused why my dad keeps junks. Anyway, I disposed some of them. The really severe ones of course. My dad is away. He went abroad for some days. LOL.

I have no idea why I like organizing stuffs. Man...what a HOBBY!

Anyway, I found some old stuffs of mine in my room.

wristbands from church
The wristbands above send a message of Good News. The 5 colors (Black, Red, White, Green and Yellow) each symbolizes a meaning. Let me share the meanings to you. Firstly, all human kinds are born with sins. Nobody is free from it. The black symbolizes our sins. But then, with God's love and grace to all of us, He was ready to send His only child, Jesus Christ, to Earth to save us all with His sin-free blood. Red symbolizes the blood. After being washed with his blood, our black hearts are now purified. White means that we are now born as a new person. With this purification, we should not sin anymore and live a good life and grow as a healthy Christian. Green means growth. And at last, we shall obtain a glorious eternal life in the heaven which is represented by the color yellow in this wristband.

Another thing I found at my bedroom was a highlighter in which its tip was covered with fungi. This amazed me a lot. I have never seen a highlighter being fungi-ed..
the white stuff is the fungi
Finally, I found these masks. During elementary school, my art teacher gave an assignment, or should I say "test" as this was the way in which she marked us in the report card, to decorate a mask in which we have to buy the mask from her. Great way of making profits, aye, as a teacher. My sisters were given the same assignment too. The golden one was mine. The silver one was my elder's sisters, and the smallest one was my younger sister's. I took a picture of it first before I threw it away. HAHA.

That's all.. Good NEWS! My maids have finally returned home. FINALLY! THANK GOD!
Now time to focus on studies before going back to suck-ish school.

It's A Boy Girl Thing

After three days of tiring house chores, I finally got the time to watch a chick flick movie. The movie for tonight would be It's a Boy Girl Thing. I was actually trying to do my English homework. But every time I opened wikipedia for some background, my computer shut down by itself. It happened twice in a row. So I went browsing for movies in IMDb instead.

A romantic comedy involving two nemesis Nell Bedworth (Samaire Armstrong) and Woody Deane (Kevin Zegers) having their bodies swapped. At first, they hated their situation and were actually trying to wreck each other's life. But along the way, they found the meaning of true friendship and true love.

This movie got an easy-like from me! The trailer itself was really appealing that I was eager to watch this. My instinct was absolutely right about this movie turning out great. Because it actually is! The movie has a lot of humor, romance and some Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet storyline attached to this movie. You've got to see it for yourself. Try watching the trailer below:

I used to see this poster in a DVD shop but never attempted to purchase it. I should have watched this years ago. This movie was released in 2006!

btw.. Notice that I keep on watching 2006 movies; coincidence much?

Stick It

I have watched Stick It just now! It was great. The main character looks a bit like Kristen Stewart in a whole better way. She is so cool! It is released in 2006. I have no idea why I keep on watching old movies. LOL.

Stick It is a story about a rebellious girl named Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) who was forced to enroll to an elite gymnastic academy coached by Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges) to reflect her misbehavior of too many run-ins with the law. She used to be an obedient gymnast up till the time when her family was broken. This led her being tough; playing by her own rules. With her presence in the gymnast department, she began to show her inappropriate routines which turned gymnastic upside down.

Frankly, I love this movie. I rarely watch movies about sports. And I should say this movie is great. There are a lot of cool gymnast moves, humor, and tear-jerking moments; all packed into this awesome movie.
ps: There is Kellan Lutz too on the film. He was not buff yet when he played there. LOL.

Watch the Trailer :o

It's available on the internet, youtube! Or you could just watch it here as I am kind enough to be willing to post it here. Credits goes to the uploader. The clips below are not mine.

I'm still enjoying my holiday! One more week to go before I give into the treacherous world of studies.

Upcoming Election

An clip supporting Jokowi and Basuki (the candidate for the upcoming election). A parody of What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. It's really funny if you understand Jakarta and Indonesian language well.

Family Escape (25.8.12)

As you all know, my maids haven't come back yet from her village. We are still to ourselves now, relying on our labor to survive the house. To lessen work load, we decided to eat outside. We went to Epicentrum at somewhere in Kuningan. It was my first time going to this mall.

When we got there, we straightly went to Electronic City. Spent some time there. I watch tvs there. LOL.

Then after that we went to eat at a Vietnamese Restaurant called do an.

do an restaurant
My dad who has eaten there before ordered a sushi-like dish, 2 coffees, and 2 pho (Vietnamese Noodles). I have eaten a quite heavy breakfast so we were just there to explore Vietnamese food. :D

Vietnamese sushi..
rice,egg,veggies
coffee
do an
the coffee above is poured to another glass.

the pho.
From all the food we ordered, I obviously love the coffee. It has been sometime since I drink coffee and this is just a great reminiscing moment for me to realize that I am a coffee lover . LOL. The Vietnamese sushi is tasteless when it is eaten without the sauce. I thought I knew that earlier before I inserted the whole piece into my mouth. It was all really plain, and the cabbage wrap felt damp in some kind of way. For the pho, it was okay. The soup was really warm. It was okay.

When we were eating, there was this old couple entering the same restaurant. The husband was pushing his wife's wheel chair. They both sat down on a table behind us. I saw that the husband was really sweet to his wife. He helped her spooning the food to her. I believe that the wife was ill. This old couple really reminded me of my grandparents from my mom's side who have passed away. I wish I could get a husband like that who love me in any condition .:D

So, after we ate, we went down, we went around the mall. Went to XXI there. WOW. so awesome! This XXI design is uber great! Man, I should have just taken the picture of it. But wait, I didn't. Not to mention that I did not bring my digicam and so I had to use my sis's hp camera instead.

saw this too in front of a bakery shop. SO CUTE

there was a ventilation right at the bottom of the biggest sphere. JACKPOT! btw, the mall is kinda outdoorsy and is really hot

the path to XXI
After strolling, we went to shop for groceries at Farmers' Market.

my childhood milk! BANANA MILK! the price has elevated so much!

these refrigerator magnets smell so good.

look at this cute telephone.

what a weird telephone--> referring to the bikini phone. EWW! and you know, whenever you want to answer a phone call, you just have to lift off the bra. I have no idea why I'm sharing this to you, But I'm just shocked why these kinds of things are sold in Jakarta. I thought these kind of products are sold publicly only in Japan or somewhere else.
Got a blast today at Epicentrum! Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that there is a Comic Cafe there! I wish I could go there someday!

Btw, I just called Pizza Hut to deliver a pizza for me, and the guy who answered the phone really pisses me off. He talked in a distinctly annoying tone. You should treat customers right despite the fact that the customers called the wrong delivery. Yup, I called the wrong restaurant. I meant to call Pizza Hut Delivery (PHD) instead of Pizza Hut. urghauhgieaguh.. Anyway, the guy (different guy) who delivered the pizza was really nice! He should be employee of the month! I felt really happy just because he spoke nicely and he was really friendly.

Waking Life

I love this song very much! From the original soundtrack of "Penelope" . Notice the green text on the lyrics! I love that part so much!

There’s an anchor that’s pulling on my heart,
And it’s deep in the water but it can’t take me down.
Tracin’ faces with fingers and we’re just the same as we were,
Just our eyes never found what I see now,
That my feet are on the ground.

Chorus:
Cause I'm not lost, just looking for footprints.
I’m taking it, one step at a time and I’m getting by.
By the way,
It’s you on my mind,
It’s you on my mind.

And here comes the night pulling puppet strings on my heart again,
Shows me all of this time I’ve been blind to this waking life.
Now I...see it everywhere.

Chorus:
Cause I'm not lost, just looking for footprints,
Yeah.
And I’m takin it, one day at a time and I’m gettin by.
By the way.
You’re still on my mind,
You’re still on my mind.

I...can’t...see...you but I know you’re here,
I, know you’re here.
I, know you’re here.

I’m not lost, just looking for footprints.
I’m taking it, one step at a time and I’m getting by.
By the way.

I’m not lost, just looking for footprints.
And I’m takin it, one step at a time and I’m gettin’ by.

And you’ll still on my,
Oh you’re still on my mind,
You’re still on my mind,
Oh you’re still on my mind,
Oh you’re still on my mind.

Check out James McAvoy's piano accompaniment to this song clip!

Penelope

I probably haven't mentioned that I am re-watching Ella Enchanted again. This movie is totally under my ultimate romantic comedies list. As, this is because that first of all, Ella Enchanted  is depicted from a mixture of all sorts of fairytales and brother grimms. I honestly love stories about these. Second of all, it is a romantic comedy! And thirdly, the most important factor of me adoring this movie so much is that Anne Hathaway played in it! I'm such a fan! Pretty ecstatic of seeing Hugh Dancy playing as Anne's prince charming in the film too.

Anyway, enough chitter-chatter about Ella Enchanted and let's move on to the real deal.
okay.. I have just watched Penelope starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy and Reese Whitherspoon. Watched it on youtube, pretty disappointing. There are some parts missing in youtube. No worries, I am downloading it right now from Torrent :D hehe

watch the trailer :)

Penelope tells about a girl named Penelope (title speaks for itself) who was cursed to belong a pig nose. This curse was originated from her ancestor and could only be broken by true love of a blue blood. Another authentic fairytale you watchers should watch. Plus, it is a romantic comedy and Christina Ricci and James McAvoy make such a cute couple! I couldn't help myself grinning and smiling while watching this movie! I bet I'm going to watch this movie again and again like any other of my favorite romantic comedies. So, what are you waiting for! Go watch it :D It's available on youtube with some parts missing. Or you could just google "watch Penelope 2006 online".

You guys might be wondering where I had encountered this movie.
Well, thanks to RottenTomatoes, I am able to find similar movies like Ella Enchanted. This is just to quench my thirst of fairytales movies. LOL.

Dr. Phil

I was youtube-ing for some Friends Tv series Ost right, but then I have had no idea why I had gone into the bizarre world of youtube. So I clicked this thumbnail saying "Teacher leaves family for student". I watched it. It's a show called Dr. Phil which talks about serious problems like these and Dr Phil himself might try to solve the problem.

Try watching these parts:

You might be wondering what had happened to their relationship? Is their relationship in jeopardy? Yup. It's true. In the end, mom won and Jordan Powers broke up with his former teacher. Watch the NEWS clip below:

This is utterly creepy. Creepy but true.
For more details of Dr Phil's show, check out his website --> http://drphil.com/

FYI, I can't stop watching Dr. Phil's show. So dramatic! LOL

Lebaran Week

Lebaran Week this year is absolutely the busiest Lebaran I have ever had. First of all, no maids. Secondly, I have Chemistry tuition about Organic Chemistry, a big topic in which I only got a week to learn it as the teacher is only available during the holiday, as when the holiday is over, he's back to teaching at Penabur in KG. Thirdly, I am helping my Ie2 (aunt from my mom's side) sorting out data in excel. This took me 6 days to complete it. A total eye sore. But at least I am able to apply my computer skills in excel in helping her out; avoiding a lot of time taken using manual work compared to VLOOKUP funtion.

my dad got this from the bank, perhaps

Selamat Idul Fitri!

On the bright side, chores are divided between me, my mom and my sisters. I usually do the dishes, while my sisters do the cooking and my mom doing the cleaning. Most of the time, we buy takeaways. :D

On the 20th of August, I got the most shocking news ever. I got a call during the evening from Dennise's mom asking me whether I know which mortuary is Yessica at. Yessica is my friend Universal School, she was suffering from brain cancer. But I never would have guessed that she would pass away that quickly! She was about my age. And this was just blowing my mind off. I was literally shocked hearing the question from Dennise's mom. I answered her that I did not know and I would try to find out where the mortuary was. So I did. I asked Sheila. Apparently, she had visited the mortuary and had mourned. She was actually asking me t join with her, but I did not see her message. So, in the end, I went to the funeral home with Dennise's mom at about half past 8 at night.

We arrived in the middle of a sermon. So we sat there at the back. Then after a while, there was this guy staring at me. And when I looked at him, there was Irvan, sitting next to me! I also saw Kelvin who was sitting right in front. Saw Adrian too. Irvan told me that Lim was there too.

After the sermon, and the holy communion and the baptism, I decided to bid Yosephine (Yessica's twin) and her mother goodbye, telling them my deepest condolence too. We were in a rush, because Dennise's aunt had a visitor coming to her house. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that she went along with us to the funeral home.

I felt teary seeing how devastated Yose and her elder sister seeing their sister lying in the coffin lifeless. Today (Thursday, 22/8/12), Yessica's body was buried. I believe that she is now in heaven being happy and healthy.

Anyway, yesterday, when I visited my cousin's house, I watched a movie called Chalet Girl. I thought it was a TV series at first but then I realized it was not. It's available on youtube. I have finished watching it just now!

Watch the Trailer :D

Chalet Girl beholds a story about a girl who worked as a helper in a Chalet (a ski lodge). A girl who was a champion in skateboarding, who ended up working in a fast food restaurant, now worked as a chalet girl. During her time working there, she tried snowboarding and fell in love with it. Not to mention that she entered a competition too. What about her love life? Well, she met a guy who was staying at the ski lodge she was working at. She fell for him. In fact, later on, that engaged guy decided to go for her as well and dumped her fiancee. In a nutshell, a pretty comical movie, and those snowboarding moves are awesome!

Indonesia's Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to all of us Indonesians!!! Merdeka!!! Today, I spent my day with my family to ex. Not to forget I started my day having a piano tuition. In the afternoon, we went to EX to watch The Premiere. We watched The Expendables 2.

I have not watched Expendables 1, but I must say that The Expendables 2 is mind-blowing. Despite the very fact in which there were a lot of explosions, blood splattered everywhere, people dying. However, this action movie has some sense of humor to lighten up the situation to avoid audience's boredom elevation. My parents seem to enjoy the movie because they are familiar with the actors playing in that movie. All in all, a pretty decent movie to watch in order to obtain a courageous sensation in the audience after leaving the theater.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that there was a long queue at the ticket counter. Apparently, most of the buyers buy tickets for The Expendables 2. Anyway, after watching, we went to eat at Mie Laiker. LOL.

From EX we headed to Gajamada Plaza. We were going to watch Step Up Revolution. Unfortunately, only the 3D version was available. We purchased it anyway. 40k a ticket for any 3D movie during the weekend as well as public holiday.

Step Up Revolution is truly amazing! It was not boring at all! The moves are awesome! The song selection is great! The actors and actresses are not so bad either. LOL. LOVE IT! Based on my innermost opinion, I prefer Step Up to Street Dance! Seriously! Street Dance is just....alfhiweuhfieuhlfa.... Honestly, I dislike the guy lead on Street Dance. He was such a show off.

In a nutshell, great day today! Movie marathon! I'm currently on a Lebaran Holiday. No maid. T___T

Day-out With Ci Lisda (11.8.12)

I went to the mall with Ci Lisda and my sisters. We went to Grand Indonesia. Today's traffic was unbearable. My dad was complaining all the way while driving us to the mall. It took us about an hour to reach Grand Indonesia.

Anyway, as we arrived there, we directly went to Mr. Curry for lunch. I have never tried Japanese Curry before. That would probably the reason why we ended up there. The others seem to not mind :D

First impression about Mr. Curry was that this restaurant really reminds me of Pasta de Waraku. The food display in the window, the menu, the promotions on weekdays, really resemble the pasta restaurant who is just floors away from this restaurant. Not to mention, this restaurant might be originated from Japanese. The difference between Mr. Curry and Pasta de Waraku was that they both show different Japanese anime on TV. Pasta de Waraku usually shows Dragon Ball, while Mr. Curry shows Pokemon.

dorayaki :3 didn't order this though
the weekdays promotion

Oh yeah, I haven't mentioned about my newly painted nails. Both of my hands turn out to have different nail coats because of the fact that I did my left fingers first. And it was really hard painting it layer by layer. I could not do the exact same thing to my right fingers. My left hand is always shakey, and it would just ruin everything. That's why I decided to paint my right fingers black. However, after comparing both my hands side by side, I realized that they did not match. This had come to the point of which I put white polka dots on my right finger nails. Again, I compared both my finger nails, and did not seem to be happy with both nail products. I was too lazy to remove the polish on my finger nails. Hence, I have different styles of finger coatings on both my left and right finger nails.

We ordered curry rice dishes and we took pictures while we wait.

cute design of the restaurant, so cozy
It took us a while to wait for our food. On the contrary, the waitress had only delivered 3 dishes. Ci Lisda's dish had not arrived yet. It took a little longer for Ci Lisda's dish to arrive. After her dish arrival, we began to dig in.

we only ordered one cup of ocha. LOL.
Green Tea Milk Shake

Sea Food Curry (Helen's Dish)
Chicken Katsu Curry (vivi's dish)

Salmon Cheese Curry (my dish)
Ci Lisda's salmon cheese dish (Same like mine)

The curry was great! Delicious!!!!! The salad was not bad too. Too bad we didn't get any discount as we didn't have CIMB Niaga's credit card and we went on the weekend.

When we were about to leave, we met my cousin, Ci Debby. I poked her really hard! I felt terrible realizing of having poked her really hard on her arms. Guess what, I poked her with 3 fingers rather than with just 1!!!
So SORRY!

After we have filled our stomach with tasty food, we headed to Gramedia. I wanted to buy comics for Helen's birthday present. Comics prices have increased greatly you know. It keeps on increasing. It's a good thing I'm not a manga freak like I used to be when I was younger. But still, I still freak out whenever there is a good comic with cute couples inside.

Oh yeah, we found this comic Midnight Lolita by Shiumi Saki. We were making fun of it. There were 2 of this comic open, so Ci Lisda and I took one each. Then, we went further away from the comic aisle to a less crowded area. Then we both read out the dialog of the comic. HAHA. It was really awkward. People were looking.
Reading comic aloud
My Sweet Kaicho volume 12 is finally available in Gramedia! I have been waiting for this volume to show up for a really long time. In total, I have bought 4 comics. 3 for Helen and 1 for me.

From Gramedia, we went to grab Shihlin and Dairy Queen.

while waiting for shihlin

shihlin
We all were really thirsty and was longing for a bubble drink. Fortunately, there was a bubble drink shop called Chatime. I bought pearl milk tea with pudding while Ci Lisda bought Hazelnut choco with pudding. Really refreshing
DELICIOUS! mine is the left one

From there on, we accompanied Ci Lisda to search for a present to her friend of whose name should not be named. Firstly, we went to Swatch. I asked the store person of a random watch I picked and it costs about a Rp.1M! Hearing this made my heart dropped. A cat got my tongue perhaps. How could a watch be that expensive. There is no jewels embedded to it or anything. Just plain plastic and rubber. But that expensive! WOW! Shocked by the price, I thanked the Store person and walked away laughing. From there on we went to Seibu. We were looking for a T-shirt. It took us a while to have our hands on the suitable shirt with an affordable price. It was a good thing that some of the clothes there were on sale. Or else, I would be shocked once more.

It's not that I'm a cheapskate or anything. I just feel that spending on something much more expensive rather than purchasing an affordable one despite the very fact that both items provide the same satisfactory level, is just plain useless. Not to mention, it's wasting money.

Okay, back to the shopping. I helped Ci Lisda compared prices on different shirts. After quite some time, we finally found the "one".

After Seibu, Helen wanted to buy a birthday present for her friend's upcoming birthday. I accompanied her to body shop, but then we went out again without buying anything. The store person there was a bit unfriendly. She didn't smile. She didn't even respond to my question before I repeated for the second time. It was a good thing that we did not purchase anything from that store. Sales person should not treat customers like that you know, even if how young they are.

From The Body Shop we stopped by Forever 21. It seemed that Helen wanted to buy an accessories for her friend. However, in the end, she changed her mind, AGAIN!

found this really cute ring
Then we went to Kinokuniya! Saw Japanese Magazines! Saw Hey Say Jump too on the cover of some magz. Yamada is so good looking.. So baby-faced! Perfect Smile! kyaaaa..

Yamada Ryosuke (Hey Say Jump)
After a while, my dad called me on my cell to wait in the lobby. We were going to eat at Abuba Steak to celebrate Helen's birthday with my cousins. Ci Lisda also followed! LOL.

es podeng

Kakap Steak
took photos too. I did not eat much though. I shared my dish with Ci Lisda. I was really full.
Then we took pictures. Ci Lisda went home earlier though as her parents had come to pick her up.
