GFI Big Bus Trip

Focus Indonesia Church went on the biggest bus trip to NSW Southern Highlands. There were a list of the places we were heading to and like what I just said the trip was definitely BIG and AMAZING!

All had to gather up near the bus stop outside of Unigym at around 8:30 in the morning and we left on the dot regardless of who was late. Fortunately no one was late! It was a full house in the bus. It was completely packed. There were only about 1 to 2 vacant seats, the rest were occupied.

Along the way, Charles, our church pastor, read us a scripture from the bible and asked us a couple of True or False questions to test our general knowledge skills. It was a fun activity to release boredom during the road trip.

The view along the trip was incredible. We could see cows grazing in the meadow. At our first stop, Bowral Lookout (thanks to Ci Tika for reminding me what the place name was), the place was TOO cold to be true. As I took my first step out of the bus, I could feel the striking-stinging wind up my face. My finger was frozen too. I couldn't take photos easily with a frozen index finger!

Ko Howie only used shorts despite the FREEZING weather. It was a single digit temperature btw
breathtaking view
we were all shivering! agrhrghhrg.. unready pose in one two three

borrowed gloves from Chris as it was freezing!
It was a good thing that Chris packed his mom's gloves so that I could at least warm up by fingers for the next stop to avoid any frozen fingers. Thanks man.

Next stop was a little town in which we stopped by to have toilet breaks, snacks before we proceeded to the national park.

lest we forget
Made a quick stop at the award-winning patisserie in Mittagong! It was crowded. There was a huge line. The place smelled so wonderful. Being a sweet-tooth, I have always loved the smell of sweet things and their taste as well. I should be aware that I could be prone to diabetes.

After some more True or Falses and chit-chats in the bus, we finally arrived at Morton National Park! We had our lunch which each respective Bible Study group had prepared for themselves. Thanks to Ci Icing, she cooked me some fried rice. The first spoon of the fried rice bursted into numerous flavours reminiscing me with all the wide varieties of Indonesian spices.

foooooooddddd
Apparently, the national park has no recycling bins, so we had to take all the discarded materials back to the bus before we continued in wandering around the park.

It was a great walk to be united with nature to witness how wonderful God's creations are. From Morton national park we continued to our last stop of the bus trip to a historic town called Berrima. There were various little shops there. From a honey and tea shop to a candy store. Not to mention there was a prison as well and it is still operating right this very moment. The small town is so peaceful which makes it cozy.

Every enjoyable experiences cannot last forever, we had to go back at around 4:30. It was a pleasant outing and that most of us fell asleep on our way home. Just look at the halcyon faces of these people. Sleeping peacefully like a baby.

I myself fell asleep too. Anyway, when I reached home and was on my way back to Uniterrace, I was greeted by this bird lying on the ground. Actually Kriska saw it first and then I took a photo of it. So at my place we (Kriska, Cim and I) digged in with our lemon tart!

I was pretty pleased of having to conquer of not buying any sweets after being enticed by all the hanging irresistible candies at the lolly shop. Woohoo! Achievement unlocked!
