Read on! Photo Journal! You definitely won't be bored reading the captions because I have provided photos to get you the idea of what it feels like to glimpse the Old Town of Batavia :) This is again my first time visiting this place. I have passed this region a lot of times but have never actually stepped down from my car and take a look around. So this was it! Read on:)

Vivi and I rode the bajaj and stopped nearby the Museum Mandiri but we waited for Ci Lisda to appear, we started wandering around and to our luck the Bank Indonesia Museum was easily spotted and so we went there. The guard asked us if we wanted to come in we told him that we were still expecting someone, so we waited sometime. Ci Lisda hadn't still replied after I chnged the meeting location to be at Museum Bank Indonesia. But I guess she might have not received because you could not just depend on the phone reception in Indonesia. So I went back to Museum Mandiri although at first I thought this building was a police station. |
|
Anyway finally united with Ci Lisda and we came up the stairs and was greeted with this mustache fellow |
|
when we looked around we saw this awesome stained glass window. the left was Indonesia's logo, the right was Netherland's

disclaimer: try to put some mosquito-repellent ointment beforehand because let me
tell you, the mosquitoes here are too miniscule that I could barely feel them sucking my blood.
I could only feel the itchiness after they stole my blood. I came out of the bank with lots of
mosquito bites. |
|
lol idk if the instruments were actually inside the bank for real |

I guess this is the time for my verdict from all the museums I have been too today. The best museum today would probably without a doubt be the Museum of Bank Indonesia (MBI). With all the clay models, background noise, perfect lighting for the mood and very informative history of Indonesia's economy from its good state to its repression in 1998 and even a glance to our economy today.
The underdog for today would be the Museum Wayang. I underestimated this due to the fact that I am not a fan of shadow puppets but it has an amazing showcase. Not to mention they also display shadow puppets from different parts of the world like Malaysia, India and also Vietnam. Moreover, they have puppets from France, England and also the US which look like the ones on cartoons and movies. I should have posted some here but the photo quality was too bad. It was put in a glass box and which makes photography worse was that the lighting in this museum was just plainly bad and insufficient. Oh another interesting bit was that there was this room with a sign "Do Not Enter". This room was filled with lots of shadow puppets and I heard that these shadow puppets were donated by someone because they were possessed. ooh spooky. I hope I got you all chilled! I don't know if this is true or not but rumor has it.
Anyway, after the trip was done, we decided to have a bite to eat. We went to eat noodle called Bakmie Loncat at Petak Sembilan if not mistaken. So good! Costs about Rp17.000,00 and it was worth it! Incredibly cheap too. Then we went to Ci Lisda's place to play The Sims 4! It was so fun! I also played with her dog, Miki. So cute and hyperactive.
I came back home late with Vivi lol. Super tiring day!
