Googly Eyes

Another post about nail arts! YEY! Before starting on the nails, I would like to explain about what a lazy day today was been for me. Here we go... woot woot, a journal post :)

The intention of swimming was blown away because I started to feel home sick. I only have at least a week left before I fly back to Sydney. The urge of spending more time at home empowered any motivations I had the previous night. I had a plan on what I should do today being nicely organised the previous night.

Anyway, later that morning, I had picked a book called The Search for Wondla and an Indonesian book called Silsilah Di Kitab Kejadian in which I had the motif on reading through them but after a few flip of pages, I tossed it to the side of the table and without hesitant reached out for my laptop.

Another "thing" happened today, I finally paid my overdue amount at University Terraces after receiving constant warning emails. I had mentioned to the guy that I would pay the overdue amount as soon as I got back to Sydney which was on the 27th of February (arrival date), however he didn't believe me and instead, warned me this would be reported to a debt collection agency and a bad record will be written under my name which will last at least for 7 years. Honestly, I was reluctant on paying something so huge of amount via internet especially to the insecurity of internet signals here in Indonesia, what if anything goes wrong when I was paying it online. I am not the most tech-savvy person and call me a caveman or anything for not relying the internet especially at this gadget age, I don't really care. I worry, okay!

I watched a lot of videos on youtube. A worm of curiosity grew inside of me and I watched how to read palms or fingers. It is pretty interesting how the three phalanges of the fingers depict different successes for each segment. Sort of a fortune-telling action that is and I had to stop before it went to far. You never knew how boredom could strike you to do stuffs you have never even thought of before.

Moving on, after lunch, I tried to clean up the cupboards in my dining room. It looked okay, I found new mugs and found tumblrs which I will bring to Sydney :)

Then, went for grocery shopping.

And, the highlight for today, nail paintings! Watched a video on how to make googly eyes nails <3 Super fun to make but you have to have sturdy hands while making the dots. Patience is definitely key and what makes waiting fun? Watching Conan O Brien's shows on youtube of course.

After the nails are done, I came to realise that these googly eyes look more like frog eggs... LOL 

Watching Miss Indo 2014 right now! Saw Diana Jo on TV! Super psyched! All the best, girl! Seems a bit bizarre watching someone familiar on tv; in a positive way of course.. HAHA

Sayonara First Year

I was still packing stuffs out of Terrace! A year contract is finally over! I am super going to miss terrace so much! Time goes by so fast. I can't believe this. Not only, I have finished first year, I am not going to be a freshman anymore and I will not be underaged and next year I'll be living with my friend in waterloo. How fast is that. Not only will I miss terrace but also I will miss my first year life.

Anyway, when I was cleaning out this bottle of soap, I guessed I kept the water running and the bubbles flowing, and suddenly it became like the picture on the right. I was washing in the sink and I never thought that it would rise up from the ground opening, I have no idea what's it called, but yeah, this happened.

Semester Two First Year Exams

Aa you know, I have been totally inactive in posting blog these days. That is just because of the current exam weeks I am facing right now. An absolutely horrifying schedule I got for this semester exam. I got two tests in a day. It was finally over. And it was definitely a brain-and-stamina-squeezer. I was super tired when I got home and decided to sleep. Now I am wide awake studying for my anatomy test in saturday. Such a slow progress. It has been hours and I am only stuck with one chapter. grr.

International Fleet Review

I overslept and missed DOI today. I'm such heavy sleeper. I kept on snoozing my alarm clock. Anyway, me and a bunch of friends agreed to see the International Fleet Review today! It's the 100th anniversary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet into Sydney. There will be a fleet of ship parade and a fireworks too all for the commemoration.

Basically I planned that after joining the prayer meet, I would straightaway go to the city and meet Raymond and the others in the botanical garden. But, because of waking up late, I didn't even wake up. I woke up at around 1. So I quickly grabbed lunch and showered and just headed to the nearest bus stop. But before then I had to do some research on how to go to the place of destination. I don't want to end up getting lost.

So I got a text that we were all meeting at Mrs Macquire's Chair. I googled it up and I got the route all sort up in my gps, so off I went. It was all going smoothly until the part I had reached the last bus stop and the driver told all passengers had to go down. Somehow, I sensed that the driver was talking to me, giving me directions on which way to go. She was really nice. But then again, I couldn't figure out what she was saying, and I just nodded and said thank you. Grr, great job hearing system.

According, to my GPS, I had to walk about 20 minutes to reach the destination and finding Macquire St at the first place would be a great hint of knowing that I was in the right track. However, I couldn't find it. I was walking around the city. Again, being a solo explorer. It was pretty nice at the first place. I passed by some giant snails, the parliament house, some statues, St Mary's Cathedral (should have taken a photo of this, the building is GORGEOUS), and some parks. It was fun but then I grew tired.

Up till the point that I went on the wrong track to a wharf, and suddenly I saw a plank showing "Kings Cross". Oops, Kings Cross, I've heard tons of stories about this place. My mom warned me before it was a dangerous place. But, fortunately the sun was still out, and it was not dark so I hurried back and turned around. Oh yeah, I went to a place called Wooloomooloo too. I don't know what that is but, I was quite far away from the destination when I looked at the google map.

Along the way, I saw some ships too so it was okay.

Then, I finally got enlightened and found Macquire Street at last! But when I wanted to go inside the Royal Botanical Garden, it was closed! I was about to give up, and I was just planning in my head that I would just go into the NSW Public Library and waited for my friends there or even better just strolling around inside the building where there is aircon. Just as I was about to lose hope, and was about to cross the road, I saw someone looking like Earl. It was EARL! I called him out, and then I saw Raymond, Ci Karlina and Nicole. What a COINCIDENCE! I was overjoyed and super relieved. I was boiling and sweating.

So along with the group, we started to pick up a spot before it was closed again like the Royal Botanical Garden. And guess what, we all headed to the place that I had been going back and forth for 3 times. I couldn't believe that the place was under my nose this whole time. I should have just followed my instincts next time!

When we got in, I was parch and I bought a frozen coca cola which was stupendously steep. But I was too tired and thirsty.

We had to wait for 3 hours before 7:40 pm in which the fireworks will start. We spent the time playing cards with a dash of truth or dare. Then, playing ABC lima dasar again, chopstick, ayam, and all other indonesian traditional games that require only your hand and nothing else. Up till the point, we didn't know what to play next.

The fireworks were SPECTACULAR. Too bad, I couldn't capture anything with my camera other than blurry images. I decided to record it but that too was not that "spectacular". It was a great show after all. The crowd was shouting at one another to "sit down", but the one standing up shouted back "stand up you lazy people". It was hectic.

After the 30 minutes show, we all went home, it was too crowded and we walked slowly too. Nicole said "it feels like China". I, on the other hand, had in mind what the Israelites would feel like when they were in exodus from Egypt.

I knew from that point that I might get another strike of passing my bedcheck but I had to eat, I felt tired and hungry. We at Lyn Restaurant. I love Chinese Food!

I decided to text my RA telling them that I would be late. I was late for an hour and I got reported thereafter. -___- oh well. All in all, it was a G---RRRREEEAAATT day!

The new burrito place just opened up and there was a grand opening! There was free burrito either wrapped or bowled from 11am to 8pm! How cool is that!

Cim and I lined up at around 10:57 and people had started lining up! It was a long queue. And not to forget that the line even reached the open street. It was not even 11 people. Like seriously.

The entertainment while queueing was great. There was a free tortilla and guacamole giveaway to fill in our waiting tummies. There was someone painting little moustaches on fingers as well. Super fun. Live music was available too. There was a trio wearing sombrero and they sang spanish songs during the 9 hour freebie session!

The burrito is filled with rice and kidney beans. The meat was great but the presence of the rice and beans made it a super-filling meal. I would prefer the burrito without the beans though. There were too many beans at one burrito.

After lining up and ate lunch, Ci Icing and I had a 1to1 session. We finished the last chapter of the letter of 1 Timothy! Afterwards, I had my psychology lecture and Ci Icing and Cim had a Bible Talk to attend to.

Psychology lecture was pretty fun. After that lecture, I had to attend to the study I had appointed myself to for the extra credit I need. It was a study about Hunger and Dining Experience. I was given 3 cookies. LOL. Then I had to fill in questionnaires. Following that study, I had another one about determining which direction a particular person's viewing direction. That was a boring task actually. I almost fell asleep while doing it. The person testing me was really friendly though. His name is Bill and he has curly hair. I have no idea why, he looks a bit like Russell Brand. LOL. He is a very bubbly and chatty fellow. I really wanted to have a longer time to chat with him but nonetheless I was already late for another appointment again. I know, a bit hectic today was, continuous studies. But this last study was different. I get paid for it which excites me. I was tested on which chemicals would affect a mutant. It was an interesting study. More like a game actually. Got 12 bucks for clicking and playing!

At 5, I went back to the terraces to open up the door for Chris who had arrived for drama practice for tomorrow's evangelistic event, Me Generation. After a while, Ci Icing, Cim and Boyo showed up, and then I had to meet up with Raymond and Diana as were going to line up for burrito. Yep the second time for me!

Diana's moustache was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at her rat-ish whiskers. LOL.

There was an internship seminar in which we were planning to attend to. We were a bit late and so we scurried our way over, stopping by at the Terraces first as Diana wanted to wash the moustache away and I had to drop by the burrito I ordered. I didn't wash off my moustache though. I thought the probability of people having painted moustache on their face in a lecture hall would be high. So, I would not be alone. While we were in my room, Raymond and Nichole was in moochi. Nichole was buying a yogurt. 

Then, we went to the law library to ask Grace and Earl whether they wanted to come along. Apparently, they were studying and told us that they would join later. 

So, we made our move to the lecture hall. It was a small one. But when we arrived there, the room was pitch-black with just a hint of my light coming from the projector. There was someone having a presentation with the lights off. We were ashamed so we didn't come in. We were late for 30 minutes. Therefore, we went out, and that was the point where Diana decided to go home and study. --" 

We spent sometime outside and then the three of us went back inside again. The lights were probably back on this time. It was. And I went in first, and I could hear laughters. I was pretty shocked that I was the only one who had a moustache on my face. I quickly spotted empty seats just at the corner of the room. The worst thing about the room was that the door was in front of the classroom, and everyone could distinctly look at who is coming in or coming out. So I ran diagonally towards the empty seats, and I thought that there was a curtain back on the wall, I bumped into it. It was a WALL. Not a CURTAIN. I made a lot of commotion and then there was someone asking me whether I was alright. I was completely sure that everyone's attention was on me. I felt that it was the time for me to minimise myself and disappear at that very instant! Anyway, after a while, the lights were back off. 

The seminar was pretty blurry for me except for the fact that there were 4 projects involved. I was interested in the first project involving an eco-friendly product and the last one involving a Sydney Night Market. I was hungry and I was counting the hours for supper which was free pizza! 

The pizza was great! I ate 3 or maybe 4 slices. Couldn't remember. There were two people commenting on my moustache. I was just planning to eat pizzas and leave right away because that was my intention in the first place. Well, in addition to the fact that I misunderstood the seminar thing to be something else. I thought that the seminar involved the ways to get a job, and tips about improving your resume. However, I was mistaken. In relation to this, me, grace and Earl were in a conspiracy of how to leave the place. I was super pleased I got a moustache on. It was more or less a disguise for me to not be remembered by the people there as the girl who just came for the pizza. That would seriously be the worst title for me. 

We went out as swiftly as possible not to forget taking a can of soda along the way. Then ran off. When I was on my back with Grace to the terrace, there was somebody calling out moustache. Probably referring it to me but who cares. It was really crowded in uni. Basically there was a semester two party going on which also added to the point of no bed check.
