Packing and Task (22.3.13 - 23.3.13)

Another late post. I think I better summarise this as short as possible.

So on the 22nd of March, I went to meet up with Sheila, Heidy, Kevin, Sharon at the law library. I have booked a room for a certain amount of time in order for us to study together. I actually wanted Heidy to teach me about Biology, but in the end, we ended up doing all our respective assignments. Like myself, if I am not mistaken, I went on doing my Scif 1111 class biography assignment. Kevin was doing the same thing. Sharon continued her BABS peer reviewed primary research essay. While Heidy, Jupe and Sheila learnt accounting.

During our study period, I met Earl, Santa and Raymond on their way to the second floor.

At around 4, it appeared that someone had been waiting for their turn of share of the room booking. So we had to leave the room and searched for another room to study. We ventured around and we separated ways. I went with Kevin and Sharon while the other three girls went somewhere else to find Andrian.

Kevin, Sharon and I decided to study in the new building in UNSW called the Tyree building. It's an engineering building and unlike the other buildings in UNSW, this building is so high-tech. Moreover, the architectural design seems so modern. The three of us went up to the most up-est floor and stayed there.

Kevin was observing the carpet attentively. He was pretty amazed by the design. --"
After a while, a supervisor approached us and told us that we are not supposed to sit there. In fact, the place we were staying is only for staff members only. We didn't know about that and apologised and continued our search for a place to finish our assignments.

From the top floor, we went to the basement. The signal there was atrocious. I couldn't even text my friends. We stayed there up till 6 o'clock. We decided to be quiet and not talk to one another for the sake of finishing at least one of our overloading assignments. I was able to finish my class biography! It was the most triumphant moment I have gotten for the whole week. Half of my burden had been lifted off somehow. I still got BABS to finish only. (Well it's finished now and even submitted it, no wonder this is such a late post).

At six, we parted our ways. I should prepare myself for a bible study conference that will start at around 7-ish I guess.

Let's skim through the next day.

It was a Saturday and I promised Cim that I would help her pack her things from Ama's place (her home stay). But before going to her place, we stopped by at East Gardens to do a little shopping for my place. I had finished all the stock I shopped last week.

Upon arriving in East Gardens, there was a mini farm display just right at the entrance of the mall. Cim told me that they would display ducks, chicks, and other farm animals during weeks nearing Easter.

ducks!

goats and hens

rabbit and chicks
They are all adorable creatures! Having bits of cuteness obsession still in mind, we continued our way to do our grocery shopping at Coles. Met Ci Lily there! What a coincidence!

With groceries done, we went to Ama's place and let the journey and hard work of packing begin. Cim's clothes are too much. I think there were around 7-8 bags total after the packing was done. We spent a couple of hours tidying up.

ate the mushroom pie we bought from Coles!
these macadamia cookies are heaven!
Both of us went back home to Uniterraces at around 6 I guess. Cim was leaving her homestay and rented a place at Ci Icing's apartment next wednesday (27th March).

It's Time For Thai (14.3.13 - 15.3.13)

This is a recap for what I did during my not-so-busy-busy week. A lot of things happened and I began to taste problems after problems which is really frustrating.

Firstly, my blackberry's keypad is broken. I can't type properly. This happened because, after washing hands and without drying this drenched hands, I immediately played with my blackberry causing the water to get into the gaps of the keyboard. I have to use substitutes for my awkward typing. I can't type these alphabets now: I, O, K, L, M. And I have to substitute this alphabets with !, 0, Q, 1, and the M one I have to copy paste someone's M before entering it. Well, actually I saved the M on the clipboard. I know this is really alay! This sucks you know. I feel like exploding whenever I want to type in my blackberry. Oh yeah! Not to mention! I can't even use the delete button! So, if there are any mistakes I have to use the "clear field" option from the blackberry menu and I have to start the sentence right from the start.

my "o" fell off during Math Lab
Another thing, well, this is not a problem to me, I cooked for the first time ever! Cooked fried rice with spam. I am pretty contented with my dish and I kept on eating it spoons after spoons. This meal was supposed to be my lunch for tomorrow. And guess what, half of it was almost finished during midnight. I always feel starved every night!

master in the kitchen! huahahaha
not to boast or anything, but the kitchen state after cooking was splendidly clean.
you know I'm saying this sarcastically right..

next on, put sweet potatoes on the steamer. for future healthy snacks.
I didn't eat it though. Cim ate most of it
On Friday, before attending Bible Study with Focus, we ate at a Thailand restaurant called It's Time For Thai. Raymond, Cim and I were pretty late, and when we arrived there, most of them had almost finished eating their meals.

Just before dinner, Raymond, Bunga, Della, Grace, Nichole, and I went to Maroubra intending to report ourselves to the KJRI thing. However, to our misfortune, that place was already closed when we arrived in Maroubra. So we directly went grocery shopping at East Gardens. The unique thing I realized in shopping here in Australia is that whenever you want to use a trolley, you have to put a $2/$1 coin (depending on the coin slot size) in order for you to use it.

After shopping, I carried a lot of groceries home. The 2L-milk I bought was super heavy, I felt like I had beared muscles during the whole process of carrying the groceries.

It's Time for Thai

can't believe Ive got the silliest face here.
This dish is gloriously AWESOME! Can't get enough of it! I don't know what it's called though!
Another thing I want to mention in this post is that when I checked my mailbox hoping that my medibank card (insurance card) that I have ordered during o-week would arrive, my mailbox was empty! I have been waiting for this for more than 10 working days. I reported this problem to the medibank office, and guess what she said! She said that my card was not even sent! urgh! I was boiling at that moment. But I kept my cool because this frontdesk lady was looking pretty shock too, she was asking me whether I knew/remembered the person that ordered the card for me. I don't know why, I think this lady and the previous lady during o-week are the same person that ordered my card.

No worries then, today (22nd of March) I have checked my mail box and it was there! Thank God! And the day I ordered my card for the second time was on the 18th and thankfully it has now been delivered!

Circular Quay

On the 10th of March 2009, GKY also known as Gereja Kristus Yesus was set up in Sydney. This year, this church celebrates its 4th birthday. Pdt. Dr. Freddy Lay even came to celebrate this joyous celebration too.

Pdt Freddy Lay was pretty shocked to see me in Sydney. Because it was only a few months back that I got baptized.

w/ Pdt. Tommy Elim from Greenville
Ate lunch after the sermon as always. Then afterwards, Sheila, Cim and I went to Circular Quay to take a photo with the Opera House. We used Bus 555 which is a free bus to Circular Quay.

err, what's with my face... us waiting at the bus stop, the bus takes a really long time to reach us.

Harbor Bridge
There was a funny incident when meeting up with the statue impersonator right here. I really wanted to take a photo of him and so I searched in my purse some amount of money. I was actually thinking him of giving a Rupiah currency money of gope-tun. But then, I couldn't find it and so I searched for the smallest amount of cent. I found 5c and I covered the cent with my hand, and I lowered my body as lowest as possible in order for the guy not to see how much money I gave. After putting the money, he was thanking for so much. I was confused why he was thanking me in that great manner. Then, we took a photo of it. And as the weather was ridiculously hot, and the guy was wearing aluminum all over his body, I could feel the heat conduction from his gloves to my bare hands. I immediately without further thinking said "You're hot". No clue why, this guy starting holding my hand even tighter. I was so shocked! Not to mention he was trying to touch my hand to his mask like a kiss gesture. You should see the look of Cim's face when she saw this. After taking a photo, Cim asked how much money I gave to the guy, I told her 5c, and she was amazed because she thought that I gave him a lot of money... Now this explains the confusion of thanking me so much above.

After going around taking photos of the Opera House, we were exhausted and decided to go grocery shopping for my studio! I have no food! Q_Q Pity meeee

We were extremely lucky of wasting a couple of minutes watching the street entertainment, because with an entertainment like, it didn't take long in waiting for the free bus to come pick us up.

Went to Worldsqure to buy groceries! Stopped at Asian Market first to buy seaweed sheets for making sushi!

look at these pockies! they're gigantic

more macaroons
oh yeah, bought this from a Korean stall too. the fried rice is completely bland.
Then from Asian Market, we went to Coles to buy milk, bread, spam, eggs, grapes, sweet potato, cereal, muesli, and I think I am missing out something. That's okay.. It was really heavy carrying all these by myself to the dorm. I felt like my arms were going to fall off any second. Anyway, I arrived safely at home with no extreme injuries. Thank God! And on top of that! I finally got something to eat! And my refrigerator looks filled for the first time!
